Description
Cinnamomum zeylanicum of the lauraceae family. Our oil is produced in Sri Lanka by steam distillation of the leaves and twigs. It is a deep yellow-brown colour and has a sharp, spicy aroma. Distinguished from its more aggressive counterpart of cinnamon bark by its low cinnamaldehyde content it should still be used in moderation to avoid skin irritation of the mucous membranes and skin.
A strong and warming stimulant. A very popular oil during the cold winter months. When combined in a vaporiser with sweet orange a comforting, cheering aroma is produced.
Methods of use: Vaporising, disinfectant
Cautions: Always use Cinnamon leaf NEVER cinnamon bark – It is a strong irritant of the skin and the mucus membranes as well as a potential sensitiser. Use low dilutions ½ % or less – Avoid in pregnancy – Do not use on children.
